Falling Into The Sea

At the age of nineteen, Nica Galas published her first book, the autobiographical volume Falling into the Sea, which narrated her short and torrid love story between the warm beaches and lemon groves of the Gulf of Naples. The overwhelming story begins with Nica and her friends collecting bouquets of jasmine flowers for the boys while they jump into the sea from a cliff. An innocent first kiss leads to a fiery summer affair that is cut short one moonlit night when her lover jumps into the dark abyss never to surface, leaving Nica naked on the cliffs screaming his name.
