Imaginary Authors
Memoirs of a Trespasser
Philip Sava's early exploratory writings pushed the boundaries of postmodern fiction, revealing fantastical worlds that fooled many into believing they were, in fact, real. Sava's kaleidoscopic collections, of which "Memoirs of a Trespasser" is the undisputed centerpiece, were based on real experiences from his exotic travels, but were infused with a hallucinatory inventiveness that differentiated his work from the from other authors of the genre.
Although Sava had partners all over the world, he spent most of his time living alone on a ranch in southern Madagascar. When the press questioned him about his cloistered lifestyle, he replied: "Who needs love when there's still cognac in the glass?"
